Additional seatbelts for motorhome

A friend is selling their six-berth motorhome and we were very keen on it, but it only has 4 seatbelts (we are a family of 5). I have looked on the internet and although it does say that it is possible to add seatbelts, that it is not always advisable for safety/insurance reasons. It's a 2005 Fiat Carioca. Has anyone had this done? Any advice? Thanks.

We had a 2004 Autoquest on a Peugeot base. When we had DS1 we changed the front passenger seat for a twin seat from the scrap yard. The twin seats extra 3 point belt is attached to the seat so there were no problems changing it- it was a straight swap unbolt one bolt in the other. Insurance had no problem with it as the cabs often have the extra seat when they are used commercially.

Would that be an option for you as you only need one more travelling seat?

Good idea - I'll look into that. Thanks chrisrobin
