Anyone know anything about the migration habits of Oystercatchers? I think this is a bit odd....

Every year for at least 5 years an Oystercatcher appears for a few days on a roundabout in the middle of a busy A road near me.

Nowhere near any lakes, etc. We are not near the sea. It normally stays for up to a week and doesn't seem to move from the roundabout. It will be there in the morning, still there in the afternoon just ambling about on the grass.

Saw it again yesterday though oddly it's not there today.

Is it likely to be the same one? Do they live this long? Or may one have passed on the location of a good roundabout to its offspring? Is it knackered and having a rest before finding a lake?
