I like pork pies, mini sausage rolls if possible a tomato and basil soup straight from the thermos and to follow up rice pudding with custard

KittensandKnitting · 18/07/2016 22:01

No wasps :)

Chilled chicken in breadcrumbs and a lovely wardolf salad :)

Mini sausage rolls
Mini pork pies
Tiny sandwiches or tiny bagels
Bottle of champagne chilled in a nearby river and strawberries :)

I just love a good picnic :)

ChesterChumley · 18/07/2016 22:07

Ooooo champagne! Fruity!

ClaretAndBlue30 · 18/07/2016 22:07

I love picnics!

Crusty French bread, Parma ham, sausage rolls/cocktail sausages are my essentials. Then maybe some coleslaw, pesto salad etc.

JapanNextYear · 18/07/2016 22:10

Crusty bread, proper ham or Brie or cheddar. Bit of lovely cake and some strawberries. Bottle of beer.

ChesterChumley · 18/07/2016 22:16

Does anyone else also take scones

Pestilence13610 · 18/07/2016 22:18

I do scones Chester cheesy ones with cream cheese and chutney to go with them and a load of watercress.

ChesterChumley · 18/07/2016 22:21

Wonderful idea I have always wondered what to do with scones but the cream cheese and chutney is just the ticket! Now I just need a hot chick to join me!

Pestilence13610 · 18/07/2016 22:24

You're taking rice pudding and custard, DH will join you.
Just don't forget the charcuterie Wink

iklboo · 18/07/2016 22:24

Crusty bread, butter, pate, Parma ham or prosciutto, a good cheddar, sharp pickled onions, naice crisps, mini pork pies, mini sausages, quiche (or mini quiches). Grapes, strawberries, chilled white wine or prosecco (poor DH would be driving unless we'd walked from a beach chalet or houseboat.

The shade of old trees and a river to dangle my feet in.

Good company.

GreatPointIAgreeWithYouTotally · 18/07/2016 22:25

Someone else organises it, makes it and there is white wine.

roseteapot101 · 18/07/2016 22:38

Now have a need for a baguette lots of butter and Brie :)

wtffgs · 18/07/2016 22:50

Cream cheese and pickle on scones! You'd need beer or cider to go with that. It sounds wonderful. Haven't had a picnic in eleventy billion years because if we did, I'd have to shop for, prepare, carry, unpack and wash up afterwards #bitter Grin

Mooingcow · 18/07/2016 22:58

Huge rug, straw hats, cushions. Booze. Very ripe cheese, sourdough, strawberries.

Good book, babbling brook. Long grass.

Tempted to skive tomorrow now.

ChesterChumley · 18/07/2016 23:01

Pestilence13610 · 18/07/2016 23:04

wobblywonderwoman · 18/07/2016 23:08

I tend to grab a coffee from the local shop and two bags of crisps for the DC

Need to be more adventurous

KittensandKnitting · 18/07/2016 23:13

This is making me far too hungry and longing for a picnic Smile

roseteapot101 · 19/07/2016 09:58

i am thinking about a picnic on the weekend so if we all share ideas we can come up with something really delicious for our own picnics

My other half really likes egg and bacon sandwiches home made is always better.

Variation on the picnic theme. Camping breakfast (when not camping). Gas stove, frying pan, Sausages, bacon, eggs followed by beans in the same pan accompanied by French bread! Very nice even in the garden on a fresh or chilly morning.
