Holiday with 3 month old - bad idea??

OH is desperate to go on holiday in Feb, when DS1 will be 3.5 yrs and DS2 will be 3 months. He wants to go to the Canaries or somewhere relatively warm and beachy. Is this a terrible idea?? Not even sure if pools etc will be warm enough for DS1, and what will I do with the little one? Anyone had any good/bad experiences of similar? Thanks.

Congrats on the new baby. Sounds like a good time to go to me. I've holidayed abroad with a baby at that age and found it easy as its before mobility and weaning become additional factors. I'd recommend taking a sling to carry your baby in - much easier on the beach. Also I took a basic wire framed bouncy chair that packed flat and it was so useful. I found that as the baby was sleeping most of the time the slightly chilly pool wasn't an issue. Enjoy your holiday.
