Anyone walked all or part of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path?

We're thinking of doing the southern section next summer, from Tenby to Broad Haven - doing that bit rather than the northern half on purpose because I want to trace where a lot of my ancestors lived - Penally, Manorbier, Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven (yes, I'm aware that Milford is not the most picturesque location but I suspect the ancestors just went where the work was available).

Did anyone do the walk with older children? DC will be nearly 16 and 12, they're used to walking in the Alps and have proper walking kit, but they're not overly enthusiastic about Wales as yet following a very rainy Christmas in the Brecon Beacons last year

How long did you walk each day? Is it realistic to aim for between 8 and 12 miles per day, bearing in mind that we'll be taking a bit of time off to look at sights (Caldey, boat trip to Skomer, Manorbier castle, swimming on hot days, seal hospital at Milford).

What kind of accommodation did you go for? B+Bs or YHA? Family rooms or two doubles? We're aiming to keep overnight costs to a minimum and we're used to mountain huts with minimal luxury. Is it realistic to plan between 60 and 100 pounds per night?

We should be able to go the week before British schools break up, ie the second week of July (not skipping school, honest, school holidays in the country where we live just start earlier) - how much of a difference will this make to availability and prices?

Did you book with a company that organises the route and books accom., or use a luggage forwarding company?

How much weight did you carry in your everyday backpacks? We did a four-day Alpine walk last year and had 5kg per person, but less for DD2 (max 10% of body weight). Is that realistic?

Did you use bus services or taxis for any sections (considering this to get us round the Milford Haven yucky bit)?

And, only indirectly related to coastal path, has anyone been to the fun park near Narberth, I think it's called Oakwood? Is it worth nearly 70 quid for the day? That would be a good treat for them all once we're finished.

Lots of questions, but any answers welcome!
