DS needs some new hiking boots; he's about a size 3.
His current ones are, I think, Peter Storm and although comfortable are not really up to the sort of hikes he does now and the weather he goes hiking in (ie, this saturday, on very wet and snowy ground, his feet were soaked Sad)

Please can anyone recommend a good make or shop to visit please? We can get into London quite easily so can access lots of stores.

TIA

just checked and current boots are regatta - that's a good make isn't it?

In terms of quality v price - HiTec get the best name for kids boots. Regatta are prob 1 step up from PeterStorm, but not in the same league as Berghaus, The North face etc.

I'd go for a pair of HiTec Altitude or similar

These are a really really good price! :

My two do a lot of mountain and Scout things and we have often bought 2nd hand from ebay to get a really good make and I've been impressed with the the HiTec ones both new and used. Never had any blisters with them either. Other than those they had a pair of Karrimor KSB Gore Tex ones which were fab - don't buy the cheaper Karrimor ones from Sports Direct - they are not the same quality and a pair of Berghaus ones which were really good too
