Good walks near Ditchling / S Downs?

Can anyone recommend a good 4 hour or all day walk starting from the Ditchling area, or nearby? I fancy upland / downs / cliff top / not much raod walking, but a stop somewhere wiht a shop or pub somewhere en route would be welcome enough.

Only just seen this but we were up at Devil's Dyke at the weekend and spotted there are some good buses from Brighton that go there and to Ditchling Beacon which means you could get the bus to one of them, walk the 6/7 miles to the other and then get the bus back to Brighton.

Lancing Ring which is a bit further West is lovely. Definitely would recommend. A lot less busy than Devil's Dyke.
