It's too early surely??? or is this a great years for fungi?

I have never seen so many giant puffballs

Dh is obsessed very keen on this very subject. There's probably a very long-winded explanation but basically it's because of all the wet weather we've had this year. It's the ideal conditions for fungi.

Poor MNHQ have probably got their search thingy set for "journalist" and it pings whenever anyone posts the word.

Thankfully dh is at work writing an article or he would be peering over my shoulder and telling me all about spores and the 2000 varieties of puffball.

I have taken a photo of the ones up ours woods if he would like to see them :o

there are loads of bright orange mushrooms too. I have no idea what they are though Blush
