Amazing. I heard them first and then saw them - I reckon there was about 100 of them so not a big flight but a wonderful sight nonetheless. Spring is on its way.

Today I saw two goldfinches

I'm in Luxembourg so we're right in the flight path. I love hearing them go over on a cloudy day - it is so eerie.

Heard and saw skylarks in Norfolk at the weekend. Plus some little yellow headed birds (don't know names yet).

Nemo. The UK was crane-less for nearly 400 years, they are just starting to be reintroduced. I hope to see the flight of the cranes here one day.

Now that's a tough one. Ok, i'll give it a go. Have you ever heard hounds on the bay? Well, it's sort of like that but from far off and slightly higher pitched. It also doesn't rise and fall in volume like hounds do but remains remarkably constant. It is eerie and lovely.

I heard a woodpecker last week when I was walking the dog, it made me ridiculously happy. Also a few weeks ago when it was still dark at 5pm I heard a hundreds of Canada Geese fly over without seeing them (also whilst out with the dog, handy creatures dogs) it was sooooo cooool. No idea about the Cranes though, I just wanted to join in with the general birdy appreciation in outdoorsy shite.
