Outdoors Shite: Family friendly walks

For shortish walks suitable for children.

Latrigg from Keswick is an easy stroll and there is a car park at the top making it accessible for pushchairs. Amazing views back down to Borrowdale.

Catbells (Keswick) is fairly straight forward for little legs with some easy scrambly bits. As is Wansfell from Ambleside.

Up to High Sweden Bridge from Ambleside is pretty and doable with a pushchair.

A walk around Rydal via Loughrigg Terrace is great for the views, spooky caves and a paddle or swim.

We both started threads... the other one is here - shall we try to use this one for pushchair-possible walks and the other for feet only?

where? We've only done Pendle once (in light snow) - it looks like it should be quite close to us but somehow it seems to take quite a long time to drive to a starting point (from near Preston).

I've got this book . There's a few different ones covering different areas.

It's good because you know you can get a pushchair round, also if there are any pubs, cafes, ice cream vans or attractions nearby. We used it on a recent holiday and found it really useful.

Rocky Ramblers is a good book of Lake district walks for kids. It points out all sorts of interesting things en route.
