Anyone else’s dog a bit low energy?

Thursday/Friday this week my DDog has been like a puppy again (he’s 10) gallumping about/being extra cute - BUT it was a lot cooler
This morning, he was lagging a bit behind on the walk again (although we were out later than planned, so about 9am ish) but it was about 19degrees
Is he really struggling with the heat? (Aren’t we all?) Or should I be concerned about something else?
Eating/drinking fine
They are such a worry

Is he overweight? What breed is he? Any other health issues/stiffness?

It really depends what type of exercise he was having today. Was he chasing his ball, otherwise running about or just walking? Does the walk involve an opportunity to go into a stream or other body of water to cool off? 19 degrees isn't a high temperature to us but it's at the top end of what a lot of breeds find comfortable. I'd give him a shorter walk or take him out when it's much cooler.

Also, it's great that he still shows puppy levels of exuberance at his age but they can overdo it and he may be feeling a bit stiff today. I'd give him shorter walks for two or three days, let him rest up a bit and see how he gets on. If he's still lagging behind, make an appointment to see your vet.

He's eating and drinking fine and is otherwise ok, try not to worry.

Move to North Scotland. We haven't had any heat. 😂

What's the humidity like in your area? That can affect dogs just as much as, if not more, than heat.

My 12 year old girl usually runs rings round us all but she’s been sluggish this morning. No jumping up or demanding howls, picked over her breakfast. First time I’ve ever really thought of her being an old lady 😭

Hopefully all our doglets will perk up again when this offensive weather fucks off back to hell.
