Dog suddenly started reacting to other dogs

Looking for some advice on our 4 year old Cavapoo please. He's been well socialized with other dogs from being a puppy and is friendly to other dogs on walks. But he's suddenly started snapping and growling at other dogs when we're in pubs and cafes. Some of these dogs he's known all his life and he's suddenly started growling at them and I don't understand why.

How do we train him out of this behaviour? We started letting him sleep on our bed a few months back and I wonder if the two things are connected ie he's got more protective of us.

Any advice much appreciated.

Is he from a litter where 2 Cavapoos were bred together? If so this can cause aggression issues.

No. It was a Cavapoo and a poodle.

If you can't address this dog behavior, then please don't take the dog to places where they are clearly unhappy.

Apart from being upsetting for your dog and stressful for you, its very upsetting for everyone else and especially the well behaved dogs in the pub / cafe/setting.

Others will be cursing you even if to themselves. Few may challenge you they will just leave as soon as they can and some may even decide not to return again. Especially if staff do nothing.

Find the problem and address If you cannot get it stopped, then please don't bring your annoying dog, its spoiling the experience for everyone including the staff and your own dog.

Dog friendly also means other people won't mind your dog being there.

Iv'e noticed its generally small dogs with these yapping/aggression. Maybe its more uncomfortable for small dogs in a confined area?
