Obviously we will be phoning the vet on Monday but is there anything we can do in the meantime?

She's asking to go out more often (comes up to us whining).
Does more pees than usual when out.
Squats for longer when she pees.
Little urine coming out
Just peed in house as DH couldn't get his boots on quick enough.
Licking fanny a bit more than usual.

No blood in urine - snow here so easy to see.
Doesn't appear to be in pain/discomfort.

Google isn't much use, most results are either AI or sponsored (buy our supplements).

Blue Cross site says it won't go away on it's own and vet will probably need to prescribe antibiotics. I don't think it would be classed as an emergency but the emergency clinic is 10 miles away and we have very heavy snow here and probably heavier out there (Aberdeenshire).

Has anyone got any advice?

Only thing I know to do is to drink lots of water to try to flush out the infection. I'd make sure she drinks plenty by adding a little bit of food to a bowl of warm water until you can get to the vet.

Thanks, she was jumping around arse deep in the snow earlier, I wonder if she's got what my mum used to call a "chilled bladder" if there's really such a thing.

I think you're mum is right, OP. You can indeed get such a thing. I remember hearing something about it from someone who came from a cold country. If I remember correctly though, it's still leads to an infection rather than just needing to 'thaw out'. Hope she feels better soon.
