Puppy vaccines in UK

Hi everyone,

Just wondered about your thoughts on puppy vaccines.
so my puppy has had both L4 and DHPPI but she’s been offered an additional injection for Parvo, it’s my understanding that parvo is covered in the DHPPI? I’m just wondering why they need this additional
injection and if anyone else has given this?

thanks

It can depend where you live, where your pup is walked and whether there have been a lot of recent parvo cases in your area. We had it offered, but opted not to take it because we don't walk in urban areas with a lot of dogs and we felt the combined vaccine gave enough protection.

Thanks for your reply, we are on the outskirts of a city and I guess there’s a lot of dogs in our area but I haven’t heard of any cases.

Puppy seemed unwell after the vaccines as well so I would rather not give it if she doesn’t need to have it.

Possibly take advice from your vet. We're semi rural, and as we weren't taking pup into town we were okay.

Our pup was very robust, I'm sure people will say that doesn't come into it, but I think we felt she would have good enough immunity from the standard 8 &12 week vaccines anyway.
