New puppy coming home today!

Collecting our new puppy (8 week old Jack Russell) in half an hour and I’m suddenly terrified!!

Any hints/tips/tricks for the first few days much appreciated!

Main advice from me is training starts day one. So make sure you use mealtimes to train the dog - sit, down, etc. it helps build the bond in the puppies mind that: you = food. It’ll help with training (including recall) later if they have that positive association earlier.

The only thing I would say is, it gets worse before it gets better. Puppy ownership has lots of ups, but also loads of downs. It is horrible and crap. But the reward is worth it. We have a long running puppy thread (where we share advice and complain about our puppies) you’re welcome to join!😀
