Please help - it’s a dog toy mystery!

We’ve had a bit of a disaster and lost the dog’s favourite toy. The dog is nearly 12 and had had it since she was a puppy so she’s understandably bereft, and to be honest I feel miserable about it. I’ve scoured the internet and I can’t find it anywhere so I thought I’d throw myself at the mercy of mumsnet - does anyone recognise what make this toy is, and have any idea where I might be able to get my hands on it? It has to be the exact same one as she’s a fussy bastard and in 11 years it’s the only toy she’s ever taken to. Sad

Sadly not. That’s a child’s toy, it has hard plastic eyes so it’s not pet safe :(

you can usually cut the eyes out easily enough and sew up

Do you have a better picture, if you put it into google image search it may find it listed somewhere. Chat GPT may be worth an upload too.

It is a ‘Animal Adventure’ 2014 plush orange black fox apparently… There are some for sale on eBay (US) but they are about £30 including postage!

The thing is, you might as well give your dog a green frog, it will be as different as the one you are looking for, even though to you it looks the same, if she's had the same one all that time. It won't smell or feel right to them. My sister has a staffy, she has a favourite ball. My sister has bought several of the exact same ball from the same shop when the first one started getting worn. She will play with the others, if she absolutely has to, but in a line up, she knows which is her original, favourite ball. So you may go to a lot of trouble to find the exact same toy, but there's a good chance she'll know, unless you've been replacing it regularly with the same thing so you know it's the kind of toy she likes as opposed to just the one she's always had (if that makes sense)?

Agree she will know scent is not the same. I’d just get her a new one something similar in size and texture. Have you tried posting on Facebook if you’ve lost it when out ? You do hear of some success stories. Good luck!

It’s not. The animal adventure plush is a child’s toy with hard plastic eyes, it’s not pet-safe

She really did like that particular toy - we’d had a few of them over the years but they were all bought 10 years ago, alas!
