Said goodbye to Meg yesterday - I know it was the right decision but I miss her so much 💔

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post and reassured me that it really was time to let her go. We were able to find a lovely local vet who came to the house and she just fell asleep peacefully being stroked and cuddled by us. Now we just have to get used to life without her after nearly ten years. 💔

So hard. I'm so sorry for your loss. Such joy they bring us, it's a massive hole when they're gone 💖

I am so so sorry, I didn't see your previous thread but I remember the thread when she was attacked.

You gave Meg a good life, she was very loved and she knew that.
You also gave Meg a good death, and she knew that too - she went in her sleep peacefully and you were there - loving her.
She died knowing you love her, you always will.

We went to the pet crematorium this morning to bring her ashes home and they were so kind. I was sad but not as upset as I expected, came home and washed and cleaned all her things….then I rang the vet to tell them and just sobbed. This house is so empty now. 💔
