Of course, statistically I know he will be fine, but he is 12 so any anaesthetic is a worry.

He’s having a mass removed from his lower leg and may need to lose a toe. Hopefully it is day surgery only, and they are fairly sure it’s not cancerous, just in an awkward position which needs removing.

He’s safely home x He kept his toe and didn’t need a big skin graft in the end, so they’ve done a marvellous job.

biopsy next, and in the unlikely event it is cancer we don’t plan any more invasive procedures.

home and in the cone

Oh bless him! Glad the procedure wasn’t as invasive as it might have been.
BTW, I have seen a cockerpoo who looks like your boy but bigger. I always thought he was at least part lurcher but he wasn’t.

Ah the cone of shame. The colour suits him!

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 14/05/2025 18:28

Oh what a dear little chap. I’m glad he is safely through his op.

PurpleReindeer2 · 14/05/2025 18:56

Awww bless him. He's utterly adorable. Sending lots of love to him and hope he feels much better soon xx

Gundogday · 15/05/2025 07:59

Hope you all had a comfortable night.

dollyblue01 · 15/05/2025 10:48

Enjoy him and all your time with him, he’s gorgeous, hope he’s getting lots of cuddles today for being so brave x

OnTenterhooks · 15/05/2025 17:50

He’s doing well, thanks - a bit sleepy, but doesn’t appear to be in pain. He’s being a wee rascal about taking his antibiotics though!

Beautiful man! Hugs to you both!

Just checked in to see how he’s doing this morning?
My Westie was really sad when he was “ done”
I think the anaesthetic affected him as he cried all night( and I cried with him!)
He wasn’t in pain, so I think he was disorientated
Soon bounced back though and his Westie spirit returned.
