Definitely have a middle name! Mine does when she’s naughty! She’s Cossima but Cossima-Louise when I get a little cross with her! (Which is never really). Puffin is cute from PP . What about Violet or Marigold? Pippin is cute too

I am delighted that some posters like my suggestion flora. Some of the names on here,are incredibly long winded, I cannot imagine standing in the park, calling out "pandora, pandora, pandora. I know for Humans MN is obsessed with nicknames. Sky to me would be a blue Merl. We have a red, she's Ruby, it had to be a red name. Short and sweet,easy for the dog. Good luck with her, I've had a lot of borders, first was a family dog when I was 12. I watched that naughty dog program and one of the trainers said"if you don't give a border collie a job, they will go self-employed ". That made me laugh!

That is so true. I only realised the level of dedication my last collie had to keeping the deer out after he died. We are over run now. I miss him for many reasons but every time I look out at a herd decimating my garden I think of his hard work.

I think collies need a proper collie name if that makes sense. They are so quick physically and mentally. You don't have time to get 3 syllables out before they've out witted you and decided on a plan of action. 2 syllables max if she's a pet, one if working. At least that's the way it seems to be on the sheep farms near me. I think she looks like a Bess.

Good luck! Wonderful breed, and definitely give her a job. They can get very neurotic and destructive if not given enough brain work.

Fatimas25, I agree, one of the puppies I took training, must have been over 25 years ago, the trainer had been an RAF, dog trainer 35 years then retired. He said if you don't keep the collies busy, they will find something to do that you won't like. We've always had 2dogs,used to be 3.
