If your dog sleeps on the bed

Where do they sleep if they are looked after elsewhere? Will they adapt to other arrangements or does whoever is looking after them let them on the bed too? Wondering if professional dog sitters generally allow it or if expectation is for dog to sleep alone/off beds. Thanks all in advance.

My dog sleeps in teen son’s room - not on his bed (sometimes she might get on the bed though). The first year she went to a dog care, she slept downstairs with another dog and was fine as she had company. At our current one she sleeps in their teens room so it’s home from home for her 😂 she gets spoiled there and sulks a bit when she first gets home!

You need to ask when you have trials what they do overnight as some places might allow it, while others won’t.

This is a very good question, we have only had one 2 night stay away with a dog sitter with our 8 yo dog and she let him sleep on her bed thank goodness. Although he probably would have been fine downstairs. He mostly chooses to sleep with us but sometimes gets annoyed if we move too much and goes on the floor next to his own bed 😀

Ours adapts very well to sleeping in other people's beds 😂

Also sleeps on hotel beds etc. as long as he has company he's not fussy 😅

I dog sit in peoples homes and if the dogs sleep on the bed normally, then they sleep on the bed with me. Some dogs even sleep on the bed with me when they’re not normally allowed to 🤣

My dogs sleep on the bed, when we go away they stay in the dog sitters home and sleep on their beds 😀 I have a lovely dog sitter and she does things however you would at home, whether that’s sleep in a cage, the sofa or on their bed, she gives them a home from home experience.

My dog sleeps on my bed but he will even if I'm not there and then a pet sitter or anyone else would go in the spare room. He was initially crate trained and does the odd night in a crate when we stay with friends/family so I know his comfortable and relaxed in it when it's needed

Our dog's "holiday mummy" lets him sleep in her bed, and her boyfriend is dispatched to the spare room.
