Dogs in Teslas

So OH and I both have Tesla model 3s. We won’t be changing them anytime soon. Due to the design, we’d be unable to have a dog in the boot. If we were going somewhere as a family, we’d have two adults, two children (one in a booster type car seat), and the dog in the car. Does anyone do this successfully in the Model 3?

We’re only thinking of getting a small dog, but wondering if this would be enough space. The kids would love to share the back seat with a dog! Interested to hear if anyone else has the same car, and their seating arrangements with a family and a dog!

A Tesla? Really? Can you not find an alternative EV that will be better for you and your family, and dog? And doesn't actually increase Musk's fortune?

I hate that vile man and all he stands for. I wouldn't have one of his cars if you paid me. However, the OP says that they already own the cars. It's an unringable bell at this point.

Doggy harness in middle seat.

(Who puts dogs in boots 😳. Do you mean big ones with windows? Is that still a “boot”?)

These ^. It’s probably quite difficult to sell them on atm, with the (justified) anti-Musk sentiment. Most people can’t afford to just write off the cost of a car and buy a different one.
(I did ask my husband yesterday was I being daft worrying about our daughter’s family having one. They’ve had it for about 4 years, was perfectly respectable then, because of the vociferous pushback against Musk. He thinks I am. Hope he’s right)
