Best Dog Pee Pet Carpet Cleaner

Hiya Doggers!

I’m sure this has been asked before many times, but I’m considering buying a carpet cleaner for dog pee incidents. My criteria;

  1. Must be relatively lightweight and easy to store
  2. Effective on dog wee patches
  3. £100-£200 price range
  4. How much do you actually need the extra attachments (spinning cleaning head etc.)? I don’t have stairs.

A quick Amazon search has baffled me with the array of options available, so any advice from Mumsnetters would be hugely appreciated. Or, if there has been a recent thread then please guide me in that direction. TIA

I bought a Vax spotwash duo last year and it’s great for spills, pet accidents, stairs and freshen ups in places that seem to get dirty quickly between professional cleaning which I get done about once a year. I’ve used it quite a number of times (cream carpets 😫).

I don’t think I could do all the carpets in the house with it but that’s not what I got it for. I think it was about £120 ish

Another vote for the Vax pet spot wash, perfect size for clearing up after the puppy (and teenagers spilt drinks!)

Another vote for the vax spot wash - I use it weekly on the cream rug in front room and every other month to do the stairs and upstairs hallway. Originally started with the vax pet wash and then when it was out of warranty started using either rug doctor fluid or there’s a massive pet carpet shampoo on Amazon about four litres for twenty quid. Smells lush but the rug doctor fluid is better IMO.
