Any experience of foxes attacking dogs?

Tonight my terrier was chased for a prolonged period by a fox. I suddenly heard her screeching whilst feeding the horses only to turn and see her being pursued by a fox. They passed me multiple times at high speed. I was shouting, clapping and throwing buckets at the fox to distract it but it didn't seem to register my presence. After a time probably close to 10 minutes, my dog bolted for the main stable yard which is a fair distance away and well lit and busy. She must have shaken off the fox at this point as she crossed the brightly lit area. Has anyone ever experienced a fox attack on a dog? She's pretty balsy and is unafraid of the horses and holds her own with the dog having goats and tame sheep so I was surprised it chased her although it clearly is a very brave fox. She seems ok physically so I don't think the fox actually got hold of her although the noise she was making at times suggested otherwise

Oh God how scary. Hope she and you are both ok! I was walking my dog (a little Shih Tzu cross) the other night and a fox passed by us and stared at her for a couple of seconds as we walked by and then it ran off in the other direction. It did make me jump as it seemed to appear suddenly out of nowhere !

Meant to add....
sorry not much help but this fox we came across seemed curious but more timid.

It's their mating season so they're not exactly acting rationally atm 😄

Could they have been playing?

Oh dog got the mange after a fight with a fox at my DH work yard. She had to be put on antibiotics to clear it up. I hope your dog is ok but keep an eye

Thanks. There was no broken skin but I will definitely keep an eye and also call vet to see if an extra flea treatment might be needed

Fox might have been but little doggo definitely wasn't. Was rather too speedy and relentless for play though I'd say
