Dog hair on stairs - dull thread alert

Points for most boring thread I’m sure !
I have two golden retrievers who I love more than life itself. The best dogs in the world obviously.
The hair though … especially on the stairs , I have a cat and dog Miele hoover which is pretty good but I’m wondering if anyone has come across a tool that actually work wonders for stair carpets ?

Crocs or flip flops.

The underside rubbed against the stairs attracts the hair.

Edit to add that I'm also a Goldie owner.

Rubber soled boot. We have Pyreneans and we scrape the fluff up with our boots before attacking it with the Miele. It becomes like a dance in a weird way but in 47 years of a hairy breed that kills vacuums, we've never found a better solution. Edit for typo.

Slightly damp Rubber gloves. We have a ragdoll really goddamn hairy cat and a Labrador. The fur is unreal! I do all my rugs, sofa, and stairs with the wet gloves on, it works like a charm!

Four Goldies here.

I hoover the stairs then go over it with the above twice a week. It can get into the cracks and crevies and do the 'up' bit of the stair that's hard to get with a hoover. Cheap as well 😁

There's a scraping tool which is amazing! In fact it's so grossly good I reckon it could feature in a Sporners Corner for chores.

Robot hoovers are also great for Goldie owners.

My golden is in deep shed atm, just wondering if anyone else's is? It feels too early for the Grand Spring Fall

Frustration247 · 09/01/2025 12:08

Amazing thank you all , I just brushed my elderly girl and the hair that came off her back end is actually ridiculous.

This copper hair remover (various ones available on Amazon) - honestly the best £3 I've ever spent! You'll be amazed at how much hair it rakes out of the carpet.
