A dog tried to attack my dog

I have a 2 year old cavapoo, energetic happy and very kind natured. She has never shown aggression to any dog

We hav an old dog who is off leash trained, our younger is still not 100% on recall, so is on lead as she’d run up to play with every dog she saw. I’ve had reactive dogs, I know how annoying that can be.

We were at our local park earlier this week and a dog ran over past about 10 dogs to attack my younger dog, who was next to me on her leash and had not so much as looked at this dog. The dog was trying to bite as mine was trying to run and she was wailing. I managed to grab her but the dog started jumping and almost bit my hand and only left us alone when owner dragged him off eventually

I was so upset, I am not confrontational but I told the owner he was irresponsible and I was so stressed I think I shouted at him which I shouldn’t hav done. he said the dog is fine off leash as he’s fine with other dogs. I was with my baby at the time too and I’ve not been back to the park since. What should I do if this happens again

If he was attacking aggressively, and almost bit you, of course you shouted. I'd have been terrified if with my baby.

In future, report to the police that the person has a dangerous dog that's out of control. They'll also know if the same dog has been reported before.
I'd tell the person you're reporting them (even if you decide not to), so they'll think twice about letting their dog off lead again.

I hope you're OK x
