I love my little dog so much.

Life is rather tough at the moment. Both my kids have SEN, and some more complex needs as a result. My poor, lovely DM is being investigated for possible Alzheimer’s. My DH has suffered with depression on and off for ten years now, and is currently off his meds, which doesn’t help. My whole life seems to revolve around caring for other people and, mostly, failing to do a good job of it.

My darling little dog is the only thing that brings me joy. His needs are uncomplicated. Just being with me makes him happy. He gets me out into nature and the fresh air, which always makes me feel better.

I don’t know how I managed without him, and I’m just so grateful I have him.

I’m sorry for what you’re going through OP. I too love my little dog unconditionally; he is always there and is so loving. Dogs really do feel connection to their humans in a way no other animal can. He makes a bad day bearable and a good day even better.
Cherish him as he does you.

I love my dog so much! He is very clever and loves training and learning new things.
I am always working on new stuff with him and he is so pleased with himself when he gets it right.
He’s so playful and understands so much of what I say. We are a true partnership, I feel.
He’s also extremely cute!

What a lovely post! And the pics are gorgeous. I agree, dogs are wonderful. When everything else is shit, my JackChi will curl on my lap and somehow make me smile. He’s just wonderful, he licks my tears and listens to me chat shit. Like you OP, I have caring responsibilities and my dog just loves me for being here. He’s happy just to be touching me and he knows exactly when I need him. Dogs are the best!

Agree with others your post is very poignant. I have a little dog too who I love. But, your post makes me think of my old cat who got me through some tough times.
Their innocence and unconditional love is a wholesome and beautiful thing. xxx

I'm the same. I've always had bigger dogs but 4 years ago we got a dachshund and I love him to bits. He's been a good companion through my DH cancer and he's kept me sane after DH died this summer. He snuggles up to me and I know I'm biased but I think he's the most handsome little dog ever. I'd be beside myself if anything ever happened to him.

Dogs make the world a better place (contrary to what some on MN think!). I'd be lost without my dog. His fluffy head has soaked up lots of my tears over the years.

Yep..Same. two dogs, they are my joy. I love them both so so much and therexis nothing I wouldn't do for them. One has eaten a fox poop and her breath HONKS. Still luffs her.

I love these threads, they actually make me feel warm inside. All your dogs are gorgeous, I think less of people who don't like dogs ( or cats) Here's my baby boy who is a rescue and adorable.

I adore my dogs. My life is pretty hard at the moment as I'm having to work 3 jobs. When I crawl to the tv at 10pm to cuddle them for an hour before collapsing into bed with them it makes it all worth it.

Their butts wiggle with joy every moment I'm not working

Im sorry things are so difficult for you OP but I’m glad you have your pup bringing you joy. I’m in similarly overwhelming circumstances and my cat is always by my side with his goofy unconditional and uncomplicated love.
