Welcoming second dog - what might I have forgotten?

We're welcoming our second dog home this weekend. She's a lovely, gentle 2 year old show cocker. Ddog is a soppy 7 year old show cocker, and although is an only dog, is used to sharing his space and family (as we often dog-sit my sister's dog).

In terms of introducing new ddog, I know to do this on neutral ground. I've sorted out new bed, a baby gate for the kitchen (to give new ddog her own space while she settles in), and separate feeding areas for the time being. (Both are neutered/spayed, and neither are bossy/dominant - similar temperaments.)

What else do I need to consider to make it a smooth transition for both of them?

Nothing is guaranteed. Old Labrador welcomed springer puppy. Then eight years later springer tried to kill baby Labrador. Had to separate them for nearly six months. Never again.
