Leaving dog in evening

My dog goes to doggy daycare - they pick her up about 8am and drop her home between 4.30 and 5pm. I am generally out of the house between 6.30am and 7pm so she has a bit of time alone in the morning and evening.
I have been invited to a work social one evening, which means getting home around 10-11pm.

Although it's longer than I'd normally leave her, I think given she's going to have been active all day and will be very tired, it's fine as a one off.

What do others think?

Could you get a puppy cam so you can check on her? That way you'll know if she's zonked or getting restless and you can ask your neighbour to pop in if need be. Mine was only 20 quid and it's brilliant!

I think it’s ok, you have doggy daycare. Dog will get dinner, it’s a one off. As long as you don’t get mad if the dog has an accident or chews something lol
Some people wouldn’t bother with day care and still go out. Leave the tv, radio, a light on maybe?

My two are fine if we go out in the evening. It's a dog not a prison sentence. I'm sure I will get flamed for it but I've never met anyone in real life who can't go out at night for longer than 4 hours due to their Dog, and all our real life dogs are healthy and happy.

If it was every night and all day then yes it's a problem. But you are allowed a social
Life!

I would at a push but not a regular occurrence. My DDog wouldn't be bothered if I did though

Depends on the dog. One of mine would be extremely anxious if left that long and the other would definitely need a wee. I wouldn’t

Your dog will be fine. Enjoy your night.

Dogs cannot tell the time. If they can happily go 6 hours without a wee or poo, leaving them for 5 hours after a full-on day in daycare will be OK as a one off. I’ve done it, No doubt get slated by some but I can see on my cameras that my dog is not distressed, barking, pacing or looking for a loo spot. Tapo cameras are your friend ;)
