Does anyone watcher 'The Asher House' dog rescue in Facebook etc?

Lee seems wonderful and he saves so many dogs that are about to be PTS. The place he has built is absolutely unbelievable and so many lucky dogs have had their lives saved due to him and his team BUT does anyone else cringe when he gets these dogs straight out of transport crates after massive journeys and starts kissing their faces??

Some of them look terrified, they've been through so much at 'Kill shelters', being abandoned etc and they're obviously wary.
I'm genuinely surprised he's not been bitten so far as he really does just get right in their faces!

I spend half the time wincing watching his videos as some of the dogs just look so scared and he picked them up and kisses their muzzles.

I don't cringe - I flinch. Because I half expect him to end up being bitten.

I think he is one of those people whose heart is in the right place - but he actually knows very little about dogs. He makes basic errors in how he handles/treats dogs and I think his videos have a lot to answer for in making people think rescuing dogs is super easy and dogs just 'blend' into the family, which I think is irresponsible.

But then I also think videos of people bringing their new puppy home in baskets and sticking it in front of their existing dog are likewise stupid and irresponsible...

Maybe I just have no joy.

No that's how I feel.
He has a huge team behind the scenes so hopefully he gets guided by them somewhat but the arrival videos just have me on edge.

Plus the shirtless 'roaming through the fields' videos do make me cringe 🤣

Yes that's what spoils it for me

I really don't need to see his hairy nipples whilst admiring his work with the dogs

The comments about him are hilarious too.

I've seen a few videos and also thought he was lucky to not get bitten at times as he's causing unnecessary stress to the dogs getting all up in their space while they're clearly showing signs of being worried or frightened and wanting to be given space. Kissing and hugging is our primate behaviour it's for our own benefit as to dogs naturally would be threatening to them but just shows how tolerant they are of humans to over come that. I saw one video where he at least advised others not to follow his lead by getting up close with their faces near dogs teeth but that he wanted the the dog to know he trusted them not to hurt him 🙄 yet the dog was wanting to walk away from him.

It does seem really common behaviour especially on US socials that they expect them to be disney dogs but I thought someone working with these often unassessed dogs who may also be in pain would be more dog savvy to allow them chance to decompress first and get to know if they'd even like that type of interaction.

I feel the same op.

His heart is in the right place but he doesn't seem to understand dogs very well.

I get the impression brains aren't his strong point....

I don't mind the topless videos though 😉😂
