Help!

We have an 8 month old puppy who is house trained to the point of will be dry when we are home, asks to go out. And dry over night.

However when we go out will not hold on and will wee on the floor! They are usually fairly big puddles so I'm going to assume it's because he needs to go?

We never had this issue with my other dog. Putting him in a crate isn't and option, and paying someone to let them out each day is extortionate. Has anyone got any hints or tips to stop him? It's causing arguments in the house

Poor dog. Why did you get a puppy?

She's already explained her DH's work has changed due to ill health.

Then she needs to cough up for a dog walker or find the puppy a new home before it develops full blown separation anxiety.

Yep always gets a walk, it's not long to be left, ge should absolutely be able to go that long, and speaking with the vet confirmed this.

As I said he goes overnight so it's not an unrealistic ask for him to hold on.

Overnight and during the day are two very different things.
I can hold my pee for 7 hours overnight but I wouldn't during the day, and surely a dog's biology isn't really different.

Another possibility is that your dog is anxious alone. Do you have a puppy cam to see what he's doing when alone?
