Thoughts on ‘Enfield’ as name for Cockapoo?

Just this really.

My main dilemma is that whilst I would be happy with that name for a male puppy, I am not sure it suits a female.

I have a special reason for wanting to use the name.

I don’t have a puppy yet, and haven’t 100% decided whether to choose a boy or girl. I have experience with both.

I had a Highbury so can't see a problem.

Yes, I see your point. Enfield is fine for a boy, but really Haringay works better for a girl doesn’t it?

Brilliant 😁

Imagine shouting it at the top of your voice when dog is chasing deer.Grin

Look, it’s no worse than “Fenton”

I just think poltergeist !

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 26/05/2024 12:13

It’s a dog though- not a kid that might get bullied because of their name! Dogs names should be short and sharp as it helps with recall - try saying En sharply then Enfield sharply and you’ll see that latter loses its attention grab by the letter f in Enfield.

Devilshands · 26/05/2024 12:19

Better than ‘Luna’ or ‘Buddy.’ I think Enfield is a nice name.

Although, I have an Algernon and used to have a Gerald. So I am, perhaps, not normal when it comes to naming dogs.

MerryTraveller · 26/05/2024 12:22

Go with Harry instead.

I don't see problem with Enfield but I think "RE" would be a great name for a dog.

Anonanonanon1 · 26/05/2024 18:13

Great name for a boy.
Makes a change to the usual cockerpoo names which are often food or cuddly toy related 🙈

I like this idea. A nice short name, but I would still know the connection to Royal Enfield.
