In search of the perfect sofa throw

... to protect said sofa from our dog and his hair.
We have washable covers for the only sofa he's allowed on. But even so it's a real faff to have to wash them. I need an attractive and washable giant throw which I can machine wash. So that it can tuck under the cushions it really needs to be 3m long. Any recommendations, wise people? X

I'm not keen on full sofa throws as they cover up a nice sofa's redeeming features! I prefer easily washable mats - that (kind of) enhance the sofa - mine are faux fur sheepskin from IKEA. Look nice and can be washed continuously to get rid of the dog smell.

We use Dunelm teddy throws. They're nowhere near that big but we just brought loads at the same time.

I use these from Rydale. They gave imprints of Labrador’s on them. Plain ones and other designs available.

This from amazon works well, cotton - VANJOROY Double-sided Bohemian Sofa Bed Large Throw Blanket,Sofa Throw for 2 3 Seater,100% Pure Organic Cotton Soft Luxury Throw for Armchair. Waffle throws are also good as the dog hair does not cling like normal fleece throws etc.

I just buy lots of inexpensive fleece throws from supermarkets & put several on each sofa, easily washed & quickly dried.
