French Bulldog Seizures

Our three year old male French Bulldog had his first seizure 4 weeks ago. We called the vet to be told to keep a diary and call back if he had more than two in a six week period.

Yesterday he had a grand mal seizure at 10am and 3:20am and what appeared to be a petit mal seizure (standing, drooling, completely absent and frozen) at 12am so three in a 24 hour period.

We're headed to the vets for an emergency appointment in an hour but I am so worried about him and hoped people would have some stories of good happy endings with managing seizures in their dogs.

Right now the vet thinks it's genetic as there's no toxins causing them but bloods will need to be done. I know it sounds silly but he's my little boy. I'm 31 weeks pregnant with a baby we'd never thought we'd have so that might be contributing to my emotions too. We bought him as the runt of the litter just after our toddler daughter died for companionship for me while I worked from home. He's been my absolute rock the past three years and I hate to see him unwell but once he's out of the seizure he's back to normal.

Thanks for any experiences or advice you can give.

I didn't see this in time for a hand-hold before the appointment, and I'm afraid I don't know anything about this condition.

But I hope it went well today, and that you have a plan
