Walks/exercise during storms/heavy snow etc

New to dog ownership so not had to contend with winter yet but with a severe weather warning what will you all do about giving your dog exercise (& general toileting) if they are saying it's too dangerous to go out?! We live in a village and there are trees in every direction. We have a small garden so no good for running around & letting off steam Confused

Ditto heavy snow/ice - are they ok going out still?

We’ve had Ddog for 4 years (uk) and it’s never been so bad I couldn’t take her out at all. Once in really strong winds we just went to wide open playing field (no trees) and pottered, played ball a bit. In heavy snow we sometimes have a shorter walk as the snow clumps in her feet/fur and she hates it. We’ve always managed 2x20 minutes round the block as minimum.

If advice was really to stay at home we’d just play lots of games (find-it etc) or training games. She’d still go in the garden to toilet though. There would usually be a drop in the wind at some point to enable taking her out for a brief walk/sniff?

My dog gets more wound up doing a short 20 minute walk than he does if we just stay home. He finds short walks and bit pointless I think Grin
