Ddog is obviously more whippet than her dd and so thin.. Had her 6 years and she is happy and healthy. At jabs last week vet said she had lost 1 kg. She really can't spare a kg. Have bought some better dry complete food and some peanut butter... What human foods can I add to help the weight go on? Google tells me sweet potato, peanut butter and and chicken with skin /fat. Any tips? Ddog is 14 and I worry she is just going to fade away.
And yesterday she can't put her right front paw down. Nothing in it or any grazes either. Vet on Monday for the paw. And they say dc are stressful!

She is only a bit thin, for a sight hound. I agree with not going overboard. Maybe just add in one extra treat somewhere.

It could just be the holiday. Our DDog came back from ours looking a bit thinner.

Warm goats milk of an evening or a mow in or both is nourishing, gentle in the stomach and can help with keeping weight on and weight gain depending on how much you give.

Make sure the food isn't for senior dogs, I know she is but often they are lower in protein/calories so no good for certain dogs. I'm having the se issue with one of mine but she stopped eating entirely, the wee brat. But I've found a combo of small bite biscuits (her teeth are bad) soaked in hot water with meat in gravy is working for her (higher rato of wet to kibble)

I posted on another thread about dogs and cheese that my 12-and-a-half year old ex-racing greyhound is given some cottage cheese with his tea. Cottage cheese is low-salt and high calcium, and I was told that it's suitable for dogs. Probably won't provide loads of calories but as a supplement it could help.

I have found the ddog equivalent of dcats on Dreamies... Goat's milk. Ddogs went bonkers for it! Had some reduced in local shop so got some to try! Even warmed it for her! She is loving the extra fuss. Weigh in at vet for her check next Thursday.. Hopefully meds will show leg improvement.. Dd has been Googling ddog prams!

I put the Hi life toppers on my elderly dogs meals, they go crazy for it. Increases the calories and protein of each meal.
