What is this on my dogs ear?

Been to the vets but the vet is not 100% sure what it could be. I can't find anything similar online. Thanks in advance

Papilloma/wart would be my guess but why a vet wouldn't pick on that, I don't know - so maybe not.

Is it actually growing on his ear? Asking as it almost looks like some sort of seed head, could it be? Got a bit embedded in the skin?

The vet said it could be a cancerous tumor but she didn't look at it in depth. It's actually growing rapidly, it started off as a tiny spot and is about the size of a 20p piece now if not bigger.

Is the vet going to remove it or suggest some kind of treatment? I wouldn’t want that left on my dog.

I Google searched papilloma and found similar things to the photo I've uploaded. Thank you for the replies. He is getting it removed this week but I hate not knowing specifically what it is

They should biopsy it after removal so they know if it's anything to worry about.

After having a look at it after removal, the vet thinks it's benign which is hopeful news. Thanks again for the helpful comments.
