We have lovely Golden Retriever and she sheds like crazy. Do you have any clever ways of keeping on top of the hair at home?
anyone have one of those robot vacuum cleaners? I don’t think it would cope with the hair, but my friend swears by it.
Lead me to think- does anyone have other awesome hacks on keeping the hair to a minimum?
ta!

We have very fluffy cats; weirdly Pomeranians don't shed much. Using a rubber brush thing on the carpets first saves your vacuum.

We have a lab, he's a real shedder too! I just hoover every day at least once and wash all his bedding once a week in a dog bedding bag to catch the hair. Brush him outside whilst he licks peanut butter off the garden table leg (he tries to bite the brush)

My smooth collie settled himself down by my feet today. I used one bare foot to stroke him for about five minutes - looked down and there was a bloody enormous clump of hair on the rug.

I use a hair remover brush (cheap thing from Temu) on the rug, and so I gave him a run over with it. He was quite keen.

Brilliant idea to put the peanut butter on a table leg, @DiscoBeat ! I do give my dog peanut butter while I am doing his Big Grooming sessions. But I use a lickimat and hadn't had the imagination to smear it on something that would get his head in a better position for neck and chest access.

On a related note, why don't humans get slatherings of peanut butter while they are being groomed? There was an MN thread the other day about a woman who was so bored at the hairdresser she started spinning around on the salon chair and got told off. Peanut butter would have kept her nicely occupied.

Corgis have double coats and seem to shed year round I can actually see hairs falling off him as he walks round the house.
Tip 1 get a decent hoover Ive tried the lot every brand and price a Henry Pets has been the most successful.
Tip 2 wooden/laminate/concrete/plastic floors anything but carpet.
Tip 3 give up and live with it!!!!

Someone with a white dog of some sort uses the local park to do some kind of coat maintenance. I know this because I thought some poor animal had been torn to shreds as there were piles of white fur all over. Then I saw brush marks in it!
