does your pet insurance cover dental work?

i changed insurance as my policy no longer applied now my ddog is over 10, i was annoyed and left them , changed to a new one, which wont pay for treatment for dental work until a year has gone by.

has anyone managed to claim for dental work for their ddog?

Ours doesn't.

We will pay for crowns only if needed due to an accident.

Yes, mine does as long as you have annual check ups to check for decay or problems.

As per PP they also cover dental work caused by injuries or accidents.

My insurance does dental - from their website - We will cover up to £1,000 per year for dental treatment provided a dental examination was carried out by a vet in the previous 12 months before the first clinical signs of the injury or illness. See our policy wording for further details. So as long as the teeth are checked (as they should be) at annual vaccinations then they should be covered.

Same here and we have already claimed once for a dental clean under GA when recommended by the vet.

We have also claimed a second but that was in conjunction with removing a lump which I would hope be covered by policies that excluded dental work.

Ours does , we have the better Direct Line policy , dog has to have an annual check up . Ours had a scale / polish and removal of one tooth a couple of years ago which they paid for .

My Petplan does with the proviso I get her teeth checked annually.

Annoyingly my dog has to be muzzled at the vets after one too many uncomfortable procedures so I can never claim for dental on any policies.
