Looking for a beach near London?

Hi, my golden retriever is 1 next month and I'm looking for a beach not too far from London or maximum an hour and a half away on train to treat him for his birthday as his water and sand mad!! I've looked at Clacton and whitstable but does anyone else have any suggestions? I'd be going by train. Obviously not the beaches that close for summer between May to September. Hope you can help as trying to book train tickets today, thank you Smile

Whitstable is dog friendly but not sandy. Walton on the Naze beach has sections for dogs all year and is just what you fancy. Could be a bit far though.

Should have said Dumpton gap is sand , and there used to be a really nice beach cafe . We haven’t been back to the beach since the day my dog decided to drink sea water , eat sand and then vomited into my open handbag on the way home 🤮
