Bringing a puppy home on Tuesday. What do I need to know?

We have only ever had adult dogs (rescues). On Tuesday we are picking up a puppy. Do you have any tips or tricks the websites may have missed? She is coming home with a blanket from her home, we have a crate for bedtime etc. How do I make sure we don’t over/under stimulate her? How much socialising should we be doing each day? I am a neurotic person, how do I not pass this on to her? Any advice gratefully received.

Enjoy the fun!😁

Take a pup outside as soon as he wakes- every time. Take out after feeding too.

If left in a quiet place a pup will sleep. (They sleep anywhere at first.) If they are up and about with you they can keep themselves awake when needing sleep...but will become like tired fractious toddlers. Put them to bed at signs of biteyness 😁

Crates are great-we covered ours as she like a safe cave. We placed the crate in a playpen to create a little safe play space for when our hands are full!

Think about what you want your adult dog to do and make rules accordingly. Eg Everyone says to you that they don't mind your tiny pup jumping up lovingly but you know that they will mind when you full grown dog continues to do the same!
