Dog daily routine

Can anyone give me a detailed routine of what your dog does all day? How many hrs do they nap etc? I have a springer spaniel and pointer mix (nearly 2 years) and I'm really struggling to entertain him. It's hard to walk him due to the lead pulling but it's getting a bit better. I don't know what I should be doing with him all day. What does your dog do all day I would be very grateful to know.

You say it's hard to walk your 2 year old due to lead pulling - use that and do some heel or stop/start training. Nothing tires a dog out more. Do they go off lead at all? Some dogs really do need that to get their energy out - if recall isn't strong enough then consider a private hire field/wood/agility site.

@youarenotarealavery we are hiring an enclosed field for an hour next week so we'll see how it goes.

what kind of training do people do with their dogs?

Wakes up and waits for me to get up. Bed on the landing. Straight out for a wee at 7am. Then kibble. If I am going to the office he has a frozen kong and radio 4 while I am out. If I am wfh when I get back from school run he will snooze by my desk all day. Wee at lunch time and when dd1 gets in from school. Walk for 90 mins in the big park at 7pm then dinner when he gets back. He's quite ready for bed then!
8 year old show cocker in rude health,

This might not help you much, but this is my greyhound’s routine.

Gets up when we do, unless we’re still sleeping at 8 and then he has a bit of a whine.

Then breakfast and 30 minute walk, or walk then breakfast depending on how early/late it is.

He settles in for a heavy morning of sleeping while I work from home. He might stir when I make a cup of tea, but might not.

He’s persuaded into the garden for a wee at lunchtime, before some more serious sleeping.

5pm is dinner time and he’s a strict time keeper. We have a cuddle after dinner and get ready for a slightly longer evening walk.

Then more snoozing before last wee about 11 with a couple of biscuits and he puts himself to bed.

We do interact with him during the day, but he loves his snoozing more than most other things.

@Letsnotargue mine is exactly the same but a pug....
Lots of variations of napping and relaxing.
With the odd walk thrown in.....

One of mine is... not the brightest 😂 and the other is new, so nothing hugely complicated.

lots of recall and rewarding for attention and sits downs and wait for both

The older one I’m currently working on sit from a down cause he’s very sure down should count as sit too, spin just for fun and middle, which is coming in between my legs from behind to a sit, because he’s reactive and it’d be handy to let people pass out and about.

The new one had no training at all before he came here, so we’re still on things like touch and down.

Gets up about 6 ish and goes out to the garden for as long as needed.
By 7 has had breakfast. Will wake any humans up that are still sleeping.
Hangs rounds getting in the way at breakfast hoping for toast
9 ish goes for a longish walk.
Sleeps mainly until lunch unless his favourite human has gone out without him and then he wanders round groaning.
Lunch time goes in the garden again for a bit, when he was younger he would want to play for half an hour
Sleeps or goes out in the car if someone is going out. He loves a car journey. Will get a walk somewhere different
between 3-5 has his dinner.
hangs round hopefully when dinners cooking
7ish evicts cat from his bed and goes to bed
9.30 last trip to garden and sleep
