My dog seems to hate one particular man

She's a very friendly gentle 10 month old working cocker and generally pretty happy and pleased to see people and other dogs.

But a few times in the last couple of weeks we've been passed by a particular man on the street and she's immediately started straining on lead, her body language has become aggressive and she's growling and baring her teeth. As soon as he's gone she reverts to normal. I obviously hold her back and try to calm her but he must think I've got a seriously aggressive dog.

I've never seen him before but now we keep passing him. He seems pretty normal as far as I can tell. Any idea why she would have taken against one random individual like this? She is clearly really upset by him. I've never seen her react like this to anyone else

My dog loved everyone. In her 17 years of life, she never growled at someone due to hats, beards, age or skin colour. Apart from one person. And on that occasion, it wasn't just a small snarl. It was a full flown gargoyle faced snarl. There was absolutely no reason for it apart from her being able to sense that he was a rather unpleasant person (in the way that dogs can, and everyone who understands dogs know that they can).

So yes, I am not going to trust anyone who my dog, who for her whole 17 years of life thought that humans were made of sunshine and rainbows apart from that one person, doesn't like.

There's a saying if your dog doesn't trust someone, neither should you.

My dog would eat sheep shit all day long if I let him. His opinion is not to be trusted on anything, tbh.

My dog loves 99.99% of the people she meets. I ain't trusting that 0.1% she doesn't like.
