Car travel with a puppy

Hello. We will be bringing home a labradoodle puppy in a couple of weeks and would love some advice on the safest way to travel in the car and a way that will cause the least amount of stress for the puppy. If anyone can post any links to what they use that would be lovely. Thanks x

I put a soft collar on my Lab puppy and a longish lead which attached to a thing that clips into the seatbelt. Then he cuddled down on my lap on about ten thicknesses of towelling for the journey home. He does need to be restrained in some way.

Mine also sat on my lap :)

I knew the breeder well, so a few days before pick up, left one of those soft, fluffy doughnut beds there for puppy and siblings to sleep in and gets smells on.

On collection, we put on a harness, attached a dog seat belt and sat her in the doughnut bed on the back seat. She slept the whole way home.

You attached your dogs collar to the seatbelt! It should always be a harness, never a collar.
