I ran out of flea treatment for the dogs

One of them in particular was scratching a lot last night. I combed her and found nothing at all. This morning I combed her again and found several of the little beasties. I removed as many as I could and then I gave her a tablet for the cat. Lo and behold. All fleas now gone.

She is fine btw. Has anyone else done this ?

I don't flea treat mine and we've never had an issue.

We have a cat. She is the bringer in of fleas into this house.

This happened to us when I forgot the flea treatment and we don't even have a cat! The only thing is that they will be in your house carpets, dog beds etc so you'll need to treat that as well. Took us ages to be completely rid of them.

What did you use to treat carpets / bed etc please? And how did you know you had them? I worry about them, but no evidence thus far to suggest they have arrived, so may be worrying over nothing.

I treated the house with Indorex which seems to be the most recommended. If you are giving your dog his regular treatments then I wouldn't worry about it

OP I think that you have been lucky really. I would never give my dog flea tablets meant for a cat and vice versa. Was it really so urgent that you could not have waited for a day?
