Mass in dogs stomach

Dog is a large breed, age 7.5.
Has had bloody diarrhoea & vomiting on & off for a week, we tried all the usual, starving her, pro kolin etc with some improvement .
However she’s lethargic & flat still so took her to the vet today & they’ve felt a mass in her stomach. She’s booked for a scan & bloods tomorrow. They were so overly nice, like breaking bad news nice. I asked re: a tumour & they said possibly.
Anyone had similar, the wait until tomorrow feels endless.

Is she a flatcoat retriever by any chance?

How did her scans go?

Sadly not good. The mass was confirmed, but no clue what it was. The vet was thinking foreign body but I wasn’t convinced. So she went for surgery & it was a tumour, so they PTS there & then. I’m heartbroken.

It is, she was 7 and a half & had so much character. I have a massive Doberman shaped hole in my life. Luckily I still have a dream of a spaniel to distract me.

Spaniels are a wonderful distraction, so loving. We never replace the hole in the heart left by our dogs but we do stretch what's left a little more for others. Take care now.x

I’m so sorry, you must be in shock and devastated, it is a truly hideous pain losing our darling dogs, I am glad you have your spaniel to give you some comfort

Sorry to hear she's had to put to sleep Offredismysister . I asked if she was a flat coat because they are prone to stomach cancer.
