Warning about *Barking Heads* Dog/cat food company.

Just a heads up.

I placed an order almost 2 weeks ago for 12kg bag of dog food. I usually get it from amazon but they had an offer on.

I was running quite low but delivery said between 1-3 days.

2 weeks later and my order isn't here.

I've contacted them via Chat on their website. Nobody ever responds. There's just a dozen messages from me talking to myself.

I've emailed them, they responded to my initial email saying it would arrive by (at that point) tomorrow. It didn't.

All subsequent emails have been ignored over the last week.

There are TWO phone numbers listed on the website.

One simply cuts off immediately saying its not a valid number.

The 2nd asks you to press '2' regarding Barking Heads orders then tells you phone calls aren't being accepted right now and cuts you off.

Absolutely appalling customer service. I just cannot contact them.

I'm on a VERY tight budget and have had to borrow money to order food from amazon when I've already spent money here with them.

My dog has allergies and the food is great for him but I will NEVER buy directly from them again.

In fact I'm going to have to try and find him an alternative as I just don't trust them now, regardless of the supplier.

So if you were thinking of ordering from them, don't!

Seen a few message on social media from people saying same thing. Took money but food never arrives!

Sounds like a company on the brink of bankruptcy to be honest

BarkingDickHeads · 24/04/2023 10:18

That's exactly what I thought.

I've done a charge back now so do have my money but I really wouldn't advise anyone to try an place an order.

I would agree. I’m surprised though, they seem to be sold everywhere. Mind you, they could’ve expanded the brand too quickly and gone pop that way.

BarkingDickHeads · 24/04/2023 10:43

I've only bought direct once before and had shipping issues then but very good communication and customer service.

It's a shame as my dogs really like it.

On second thoughts Barking Heads turns out to be owned by IPN who also own Harrington's, Wagg and others and are reporting good sales figures.

Seems going bankrupt is unlikely, it's all rather odd though. Supply issues, crap communication and crap customer service? Who knows.

That’s odd. Ddog used to be on BH before diagnosed with pancreatitis & I always found them very helpful.

PieonaBarm · 26/04/2023 11:49

My DDog had every allergy known to man but we found Platinum Pet Food to be brilliant for him. Slightly pricier than most but he didn't need as big a portion so worked out the same really. He had the Iberico Pork and Greens variety as he was allergic to chicken, lamb, beef and Turkey. It also smelt like human food and he would get excited for it! If you're looking for an alternative they're worth considering and we're very quick delivery and attentive to queries/samples via email

Please see my reviews on Trustpilot for this company and their Barking heads dog food
Thank you

I won’t be using them again. They pride themselves on good quality and the last few sachets have been full of rubbish.

That looks like animal parts, no? Which would be normal in wet food?

I bet your dog would love it! It's real meat with texture, probably a blood vessel.

Smileyone1 · 13/11/2023 10:45

🤢 😂 I’m sure she would - she prefers mice from the fields if she had a choice though 🙄

Soubriquet · 13/11/2023 10:55

I’ve never had a problem with them! I order from the website and it arrives about 3 days later

Newpeep · 13/11/2023 10:57

I’ll have to keep a look out as my dog would love that 😂 I feed BH as a topper and have had no issues. I get it from the supermarket though. My dog eats ears, feet, lung and other animal parts so some unrendered blood vessels wouldn’t phase her.

That just looks like a piece of organ/blood vessel that hasn't been ground up properly - the complete opposite of rubbish really and very good for dogs.

Lozzery · 28/10/2024 11:37

They have done similar with me. They're an absolute joke. I just had a crap experience speaking to their customer service and they were 0 help. Now my cat without her food and she'll only eat that and I don't live in an area where I can buy it! Absolute joke of a company!
