If you use a puppy cam… which one would you recommend? Google nest looks good?

and do you attach a tracker to collar?

Sorry neither and never even thought about it! If you’re getting a puppy, you need to be with it more or less all the time. What would you need a cam and tracker for, unless you’re planning to leave it alone for long periods?

Gizlotsmum · 16/04/2023 08:45

We’ve used a blink camera. We use it when we are upstairs and pup is downstairs. Eventually we will use it when we leave pup alone for any period of time.

I have the Tapo tp-link and love it
Not too expensive, it does make a slight noise when it moves though I have learnt to ignore it.
There is probably a way to turn it off when I am home so it dosent track me and make the noise but I can't be bothered to look into it.
I installed it on the ceiling and it works great though because of it now being upside-down I use the controls back to front eg left for right
Great picture quality and I can speak through it as well
Dp will often chat with me when. He's at work with it

Tractive tracker is good

camera a cheap one off Amazon just check the reviews I think ours is tp one or something

PriamFarrl · 16/04/2023 12:56

We have a Furbo camera. We used it for the cat. It can fire out treats which made her rush into the room.

SophiaLaB · 16/04/2023 13:00

Tractive tracker are good but we only use it as our dogs free range on our land and one would wander at times so we have a virtual perimeter set up and the tracker alerts my phone if he goes outside it.

Newpeep · 16/04/2023 13:56

We’ve just bought a Little Elf for £25 on eBay. Very good. We’re using it to train our 8 month old pup that it’s ok to be alone. She doesn’t make very interesting viewing 😂

We’re very Impressed. App is good on both my iPhone and his Android. No subscription for live feed.

If you have a pet cam, do you use it to talk to your pet when you are on holiday?
How do they react to your voice?
I'd like to get one for our cat for when we're away but not sure if she'd find it confusing/ upsetting hearing our voice but not being able to find or see us.
She does have daily visits from a friend who comes to feed her.

My gut tells me that would be deeply unsettling for your cat

It is not recommended.

We leave the radio on when we’re out but that’s just to mask external noise. We have a radio or music on all the time anyway so it’s what our four leggeds (cat and pup) are used to. It doesn’t fool them that you’re there.
