How do people afford daycare

All daycare is a minimum of £40 a day.

Can’t get a dog Walker as my dog is anxious and won’t walk near roads so has to be driven.

I also am not keen on daycare because of the overstimulation (not great for a highly strung dog) and although she loves playing with dogs does not like mouthy play. I’d worry it’d have a negative effect.

Are there any other options I’m not thinking of? My Mum has her but can’t rely on this forever.

Do you work from home the other two days then? If you work 3 not long days, and that's it, then maybe in order to afford the care your dog requires, you need to up your working hours to full time?

What a personal question but that would also would be so counterproductive if that were the case.

I can't think of any solution that doesn't involve money I'm afraid. Unless you can find someone to swap services with on your days off - you look after their dog and they yours on a reciprocal basis. That's hard to find though.
I really like a previous posters idea of a dog friendly cleaner though - yes it will be expensive but 2 services for the price of one.
Failing that, as a student I would have loved the idea of playing/cuddling a dog for an hour for £20! Again, hard to find - do you have any friends/family/neighbours that might know anyone? Then you do the walking before and after work - maybe that would be easier for your mum to do once a week, to keep costs down.
How far away do you work? Is it feasible for you to nip home in your lunch hour?

How long will everybody be out of the house for on the days you work? If it is shorter than 7 hours then I would leave the dog in the house. I think when the alternatives stress the dog out then the kindest thing would be to leave them in their own home where they are comfortable and feel safe.

Could one of you start work early and come home early whilst the other starts and ends late? Are any of the kids old enough to come home after school and be with the dog? Could you all manage to be about at different times so the dog is only alone between 10.00 and 4.00?
