5yo dog recently starting cobbing/nibbling bed covers

Dog is 5.5, has been with us just over 2 years. Has a bit of a sensitive stomach, occasional bilious vomiting, but otherwise well. One of us always at home with them during the week, we don’t have lots of visitors, it’s generally a fairly low stress household.

Over the past week though they have suddenly developed this cobbing/nibbling behaviour - it’s only on bed sheets/duvet covers, it doesn’t matter which bed, they do it to all of them. I understand it’s a standard dog behaviour, but is it unusual for it to start up so suddenly? Just wondering whether something underlying could be causing stress and warrant a vet check, or whether they’re just having a bit of a regression to puppyhood or something!

I think a trip to the vets would be a good idea. It sounds like he is trying to soothe his tummy.
