I’ve just ordered a 2 week trial of butternut food and it comes with a referral offer that I thought I’d share here.

Has anyone used butternut? How do you find it? Is it worth it financially? Do your dogs like it?

I don't have a code, but I used it. Initially my dog loved it, but went off it after a few months. It's quite high in lentils and apparently it doesn't agree with some dogs & is an unnecessary filler (I'm not an expert, it's just advice I read in forums..)

You may already be aquatinted, but if butternut doesn't work out for you, a website called Allaboutdogfood.co.uk is a site that really helped me choose the best quality, affordable food.

Mine has been on Butternut for about 8 months now, he loves it and it really suits him. The only issue I have is the recommended amount is far too low - for his age and size they advise 400g a day but he has 800g a day (plus a bit of kibble!) so if you have a very active dog be prepared to have to supplement with more calories!

My dog is loving it. I think I underestimated her activity levels when ordering, but I just use kibble to make up the gap which is what I did with her previous wet food anyway. It looks really good quality and smells nice!

Thank you. I don’t know about that website so will have a look.

when the box arrived I noticed lentils in the ingredients. First thing I thought was they don’t agree with me! Are we in for a lot of farts 🙈

Thank you. Yeah I did think that the amount looked too low. I plan to mix it with his kibble soo will see how he gets on with probs and short if needed.

This was my thinking too. Our pup is only 9 weeks atm and he's a but busy with his dry food and I didn’t want to start adding tinned meat as it stinks and doesn’t come out the other end very nicely. Then I saw this and thought it looked like a better alternative.

He’s not had any yet as he has now suddenly got on to his kibble!!! His poos are still quite sloppy after me adding things like chicken and tuna to entice him, so I’m going to give him a week or so of just kibble before I introduce it.

Interesting to see that. The calorie amounts stated for my pup were lower than she currently eats even when I put she was super active. It was going to end up being £4 a day full price so I've avoided even trying.
